Suspensions Baja Mexico Nov 2006

So the trip was amazing I'll try to go in order as I explain the trip. First off finding this spot was pretty difficult. No one spoke Spanish and our map was very basic. Driving down the coast was amazing. After we got lost a couple times we stopped and checked out a tattoo shop in Ensenada we got close to the elusive dirt road we are suppose to take. This road isnt marked at all all I was told was its past "THE STORE" haha yeah really helpful. So we tried 2 or 3 and finally think we have the right one. we drive and drive and drive the road is pretty sketchy going 20 or 30 was like going 60 there were rocks and wash outs and barbed wire everywhere. Of course its night time when we start down the road. We went for about an hour and a half and then I looked back and our other car wasn't following behind anymore. turn around and yeah huge hole in his tire no spare fix a flat sucks were FUCKED. we ditch the truck to the side of the road turn down a trail in my car and look for a place to crash about 100 yards from the truck we find a spot with a couple rocks around some ashes and a little wire grill top, score total fucking hook up! We unpack, set up tents, light fires, eat, drink, smoke, and explore. There where about 5 nice coves of rocks we dig around find a nice one and decide what to do in the morning. We woke up around 8 or so start cooking and a guy drives up yelling in spanish really quickly pretty much saying "this is my land who the fuck are you". I failed spanish about 4 times because I never thought I would need it. Thankfully I actually remembered a little of it. I explain about the truck and how we had no choice but to crash out there. He then asks me for some mota awesome the universal language I grab him a joint of some crazy mixture of about 5 kinds of bud mixed up,and a couple steaks. After that everything is cool he loved us we told him were surfing and drinking. Then he offers to fix the truck goes to his place grabs a tire and comes back too bad it was the wrong size he then takes danny with him and they go to some one elses place to fix it. About an hour later he makes it back and I'm done rigging for the suspensions. Basically i had to take 3/8 cable lasso a huge rock on one side of the cliff and run a line up and over so it hung over the water. we decide we better get evrything going so its still nice and hot out. The water was awesome not cold at all. I went first to calm everyones nerves threw some 6 g hooks in my knees that i got from BLACK SHEEP hooks really quality stuff. I haven't hung from my kneees since they ripped open at the suspesion school over a year ago. Went up like butter I love going from my knees being upside down is cool too when you get to look at the water spashing under you. I was up for about 10 15 minutes just soaking in the scenery and my bad knee starts tearing I get lowered put my hands down try to get a good look yep already opened up about 3/8 of an inch so I stay kind of supported by my hands and then the water got to high and I had to come down. After that I suspended Reyna from work it was her first suspension so Im sure that was a great first go at it. The only down side was I was holding her from going off the rock and I slipped and fell into the ocean on a bunch of rocks and fucked my foot and back up a little. I pretty much jumped out of the water because I knew Reyna had to have fallen into her suspension. It kind of sucks but honestly it was probaly easier that it happened immediatly. We lowered her feet into the water and she got acclimated to suspending 5 minutes later we were throwing her all over the place. After that my buddy ryan went up and enjoyed the view untill the tide came in so high we had to cut it short and get out out before we got trapped. we ended up having to throw all our piercing gear and what not into a tarp and lift it up over the water have ryan stay down and hold it till I could climb out and up to the top to pull it up the side of the cliff. After that we started a fire cooked some food again and got hammered. Went to sleep woke up packed the gear saw our new mexican friend and drove back.
